I feel I am blessed to be born, brought up and surrounded by
amazingly wonderful and strong women in my life and these are the women from
whom I draw strength in my lows.
My Naniji, a woman who was a matriarch in true sense. She
shaped, loved, cared and nurtured her family with love and discipline. Her
doors were always open for everyone and her hospitality was famous throughout
the extended family. I am sure she is still looking
over all her children from heaven and guiding us.
My Dadimaa, a progressive woman way beyond her age and one
who always stood for right. I think I am
a rebel and I got that trait from her. She rebelled against the society norms
of her times which devoid a rural woman from education. She learnt to read and
write all by herself just because when enjoyed reading. She is the woman who
stood with me when everyone was against me. She is my 1st best
friend.
My Maa, my creator, a woman of substance. Only if I could be
even 10% of what she is. Her stamina and calibre to perform 24 x7 in her office
as well as at home amazes me. She is a perfect blend of a working woman and a
homemaker. The way she balanced office life and personal life, the way she has
always been the perfect daughter, daughter-in-law, sister, sister-in-law,
mother, aunt, and all the other roles of a woman in a family one can think of, the
way she has made a special niche for herself in the world and in the hearts of
everyone who knows her, is beyond my comprehension. Everyone has an idol to look up to. She is
mine. I always look up to her, always strive
to be a little more like her (in mannerism, the way she thinks, the way she understand
people and situations, the way she is affectionate, the way she is always cool
under pressure, her suljhi hui thought processes, her patience etc.). She taught me the essence of scientific temperament
and helped me to be who I am today. Her ceaseless support and encouragement is
all that I need. I can never run short of
words to define her but yes, the space would definitely be less to write those
words. My aunt Anjula Srivastava, a true warrior. I am always inspired by her strength to fight against all odds and come out as a winner every single time. She is a strong independent woman and made her life no less than an ideal one, even with all the difficulties and hurdles life can present before a woman. Her compassion for people is unmatched.
My sisters Saumya Srivastava and Pallavi, honest and upfront
women. My friends Gunjan, Niharika, Surbhi, Suman, Parul, who are also striving against
world to make a niche for themselves and prove their individuality!
Every women in my life has always inspired, encouraged and taught
me something or the other . Even though I am not able to name all of them here,
but count yourself in when I thank you all!
HAPPY WOMEN’S DAY!!!
